Internet Reacts To Trump’s Unproven Claim Linking Tylenol Use During Pregnancy To Autism

US President Donald Trump, joined by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., recently claimed that the use of Tylenol (acetaminophen) during pregnancy is linked to a rise in autism, urging women to avoid it unless absolutely necessary. He also suggested re-evaluating vaccine schedules in children. Medical experts and pregnancy health authorities immediately criticised the statements as lacking credible scientific support.

Online, reactions have been intense and varied. On X/Twitter, many users expressed frustration and fear, saying the claims could cause undue worry among pregnant women. Memes have spread too — some exaggerated the scenario, others sarcastically comparing Tylenol to ‘superpowers’ lost if avoiding it. There are also posts sharing personal stories: parents debating whether their own use of painkillers might have played a role, even though they acknowledge they weren’t doctors. Meanwhile, groups such as the National Autistic Society condemned the claim, calling it ‘anti-science’ and warning against the spread of misinformation.

Medical experts emphasise that decades of research, including large-scale Swedish and US studies, have found no causal link between acetaminophen use in pregnancy and autism. Makers of Tylenol, Kenvue, issued statements opposing Trump’s claim, citing the drug’s record of safety. Health regulators in the UK and elsewhere also reaffirmed that Tylenol remains among the safest options for treating pain and fever in pregnant women, when used correctly.

White House Finally Addresses Trump’s Mysterious Bruising and Swollen Ankles

The White House released new medical information Thursday about President Donald Trump following increasing speculation into a persistent hand bruise and noticeably swollen ankles.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that the 79-year-old president recently underwent diagnostic testing, including vascular studies and a leg ultrasound, which revealed he has chronic venous insufficiency — a common condition affecting blood flow in the legs.

Leavitt emphasized that Trump shows no signs of deep vein thrombosis, arterial disease, heart failure, renal impairment or any systemic illness. An echocardiogram showed normal heart function, and routine lab tests were all within normal limits.

As for the bruising on the back of Trump’s hands — a topic that has fueled social media rumors — Leavitt attributed it to minor soft tissue irritation caused by frequent handshaking and daily aspirin use, which the president takes as part of his preventative cardiac care.

She stressed that Trump remains in excellent health and is experiencing no discomfort from the condition.

Chronic venous insufficiency affects about 1 in 20 adults and is typically managed through lifestyle adjustments and circulation support. The condition occurs when leg veins struggle to return blood efficiently to the heart, often due to weakened valves.

Democratic Veterans Could Be Refused Treatment Under Trump’s New Rules for VA Hospitals: Report

New guidelines implemented under an executive order by President Donald Trump now allow VA hospital staff to refuse healthcare to veterans based on political affiliation and marital status, prompting concerns that Democratic and unmarried veterans may be denied treatment.

On January 30, Trump signed an executive order titled “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.” While its primary aim was to curtail federal protections for transgender individuals, the order also triggered sweeping changes within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), according to the Guardian.

The VA, which serves over 9 million veterans across more than 170 hospitals and 1,000 clinics, revised its internal bylaws to strip longstanding protections against discrimination based on political party, marital status, sexual orientation and national origin.

The updated policies allow doctors, psychologists, dentists and other healthcare workers at VA hospitals to refuse treatment to veterans based on characteristics not explicitly protected by federal law. While veterans are still legally entitled to care, there is now no rule preventing staff from declining service to individuals based on their political beliefs or whether they are unmarried.

Internal documents reviewed by the outlet confirm that the changes are already in effect at some VA centers. The VA’s press secretary confirmed the revisions were made to align with Trump’s executive order but did not clarify what federal law required such shifts.

The new rules have drawn sharp criticism from medical experts and ethics professionals. Dr. Kenneth Kizer, the VA’s top health official, warned the policy could allow providers to deny care to patients based on rape allegations, political activity or substance use. Dr. Arthur Caplan of NYU’s Grossman School of Medicine called the changes “unethical” and “an effort to exert political control over the VA medical staff.”

  • Trump’s Cognitive ‘Decline’ Suggests He ‘Might Not Make It Through Four Years,’ Republican Strategist Says

Trump’s Cognitive ‘Decline’ Suggests He ‘Might Not Make It Through Four Years,’ Republican Strategist Says

A Republican strategist warned that President Donald Trump’s accelerating “cognitive decline” could prevent him from completing his second term.

In an interview with Times Radio, Lincoln Project co-founder Rick Wilson claimed Trump is no longer the same political force seen during his previous campaigns, saying his speech, memory, and coherence have visibly deteriorated.

“He is incoherent,” Wilson said. “His inability to articulate any thought or position without constant asides, constant lapses… this is not the Trump of 2015, nor is he the Trump of 2020. He’s not even the Trump of 2024.”

Wilson pointed to verbal lapses and behavioral patterns that, he says, mirror early signs of dementia. While acknowledging he’s not a medical professional, he alleged many neurological experts see troubling similarities.

Despite these concerns, the White House physician, Captain Sean Barbabella, issued a clean bill of health in April, stating Trump “exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health.”

Wilson, however, argued that Trump’s age and long-standing health habits cast doubts over his ability to withstand the grueling demands of the presidency through 2029.

“He’s a guy who’s subsisted off of McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Chicken and well done steaks for a very long time,” he said. “He is not a healthy guy.”

“Whether he makes it through four years is an open question,” Wilson said. “Given the pace of the decline that we’ve seen…I think he’ll be pretty much checked out by the middle of this second term.”

The president has consistently dismissed concerns about his health, frequently boasting about passing cognitive tests.

“I don’t know that he’s going to ever be told by anyone, ‘Sir you’re not healthy, you can’t do this anymore,’” Wilson said, predicting internal strife on the horizon. “But I think by the end of this, you’re going to be in a civil war with the MAGAs to choose a successor.”

The speculation follows not only scrutiny of Trump’s cognitive aptitude, but bombshell reports of former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline toward the end of his term, and of efforts taken to conceal his diminishing mental acuity from the public.

MAGA Calls to ‘Revoke’ Trump’s Surgeon General Nomination Accusing Her of Getting ‘the Covid Jab’: ‘Another MAHA Grifter’

President Donald Trump’s newly announced nominee for US Surgeon General, Dr. Casey Means, is facing backlash from within the MAGA movement after right-wing activist Laura Loomer accused her of being a “MAHA grifter” for previously receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

Loomer shared a screen recording allegedly documenting Means — then using the handle “@DrCaseysKitchen” — receiving her COVID vaccine live on the social audio app Clubhouse in February 2021. The revelation sparked outrage among anti-vaccine factions of the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement, a public health push led by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“The new Trump nominee for US Surgeon General took the COVID JAB,” Loomer wrote. “So how can she be a representative for MAHA?”

Loomer, a close ally of President Trump and outspoken critic of COVID-19 mandates, further claimed Means was “pretending to be someone she isn’t,” citing her inactive medical license and former social media identity. “Her nomination should be REVOKED,” she declared.

Dr. Means, who graduated with a medical degree from Stanford and co-authored Good Energy, has become popular in wellness and biohacking circles for promoting metabolic health and criticizing pharmaceutical companies. She has closely aligned herself with RFK Jr.’s anti-establishment health agenda.

Hardline MAHA loyalists — many of whom reject vaccines and see the movement as opposition to COVID-era health policies — refuse to trust recipients of the COVID vaccine.

While some commenters attempted to give Means the benefit of the doubt, citing the frequency with which employers required vaccines at the time, others were suspect of Means and even Kennedy for associating with her.

For others, her nomination only fueled suspicion of the government.

Means’ nomination has already faced scrutiny for her lack of clinical experience. Trump admitted on Thursday that he didn’t really know her, and chose her based on RFK Jr.’s recommendation.

The White House and Health Secretary Kennedy have not yet responded to Loomer’s post or the growing demands from MAGA figures to withdraw Means’ nomination.

Trump’s Nearly 5-Hour Physical Exam Raises Questions About His Health After Massive Bruise Saga

President Donald Trump underwent a nearly 5-hour physical exam this morning, raising questions about his health following last month’s bruise saga.

According to the president’s official schedule, Trump arrived at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington at 11 a.m. and did not leave until 3:45 p.m. For comparison, former President Joe Biden’s physical exam last about 2.5 hours last year, AP News reported at the time. Although Biden forwent a cognitive exam, those typically take just 15 minutes, according to NPR.

Trump wrote in a Truth Social post shared Monday that he has “never felt better, but nevertheless, these things must be done!” Trump is the oldest president to start a second term in the White House at 78.

Trump’s doctors have issued glowing statements about his health throughout his political career. In 2012, his then-doctor stated, at Trump’s request, that he was the “healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency,” NPR reported. Then, in 2018, another doctor told the press he had “great genes.”

The latest physical comes less than two months after Trump was photographed with a massive bruise on his right hand. It was captured during a White House meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. One doctor chalked up the cause of the bruise to an “aggressive handshake” while another guessed the president’s tanning habits and potential use of blood-thinning medications could make his skin more prone to bruising.

Many took to social media to share concern around the president’s abnormally long exam. Despite the results, a lot of Americans believe the Trump administration won’t release the real results.

“What kind of physical takes 4 hours and 45 minutes? Seems sus,” X user @ArtCandee wrote.

“Trump is at Walter Reed Hospital today, getting his annual physical, after which he and his doctors will lie,” @rogertansey stated in an X post.

“Let me guess… At #Trump’s physical today, the doctor will proclaim very powerfully that he is the most physically fit of all our our presidents and that he’s a remarkable specimin [sic] who’s likely to live to the age of 150 or perhaps longer,” a third added.

Some users lambasted Trump for scheduling his physical exam ahead of a weekend spent golfing at Mar-a-Lago.

“Trump’s schedule today is to do his physical and then fly to Mar-a-Lago for the weekend to golf…” an X user wrote, along with a screenshot of Trump’s schedule.

We need him to just golf every day tbh,” another joked.
