    KISS Star Ace Frehley’s Death Under Investigation After Toxicology Report Ordered

    Investigators​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ are trying to figure out what happened in the case of the death of Ace Frehley. The iconic KISS guitarist died at 74 years old on October 16.

    According to TMZ, the examination of the body will include a toxicology ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌report.

    The brain bleeding resulted from a fall in a recording studio and Frehley was put on life support. immediately After a couple of weeks of treatment, the family decided to take him off the ventilator.

    A spokesperson for the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office said that an autopsy was not performed.

    The investigation is limited to an external examination of the body and a complete toxicology panel. The final cause of death will be decided in the next few ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌weeks.

    Frehley​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ was, with Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss, one of the founding members of KISS and he was through the 70s not only a major contributor to the band’s sound but also to their visual image which was their climb to success. The band, which later became famous for songs such as “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” and “Rock and Roll All Nite,”, eventually turned into a global icon of glam ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌rock.

    He parted ways with KISS in 1982 due to disagreements within the band and his own addiction problems. Frehley came back for a 1996 reunion tour but was only there until 2002 when he decided to go solo ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌again.

    Before his death, Frehley’s team had assured fans he was recovering.

    On September 25, a post on his official Instagram stated, “He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time.”

    Days later, another message announced that he had “made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of his 2025 dates” due to ongoing medical issues.


    Family and Bandmates Mourn

    In a statement shared after his death, Frehley’s family said they were “devastated and heartbroken.”

    They wrote, “In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth.” The family added that his “memory will continue to live on forever.”

    Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley also expressed their grief in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “I am devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley,” Simmons said. “He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history. He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy.”

    The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a report showing that more and more children are either dying or becoming severely ill with the flu amid declining vaccination rates in the United States.

    Now, cases of pediatric acute necrotizing encephalopathy (ANE) are on the rise, with 109 children being diagnosed during the 2024-25 flu season. This is a rare inflammatory brain disease caused by the illness.

    Rise in Flu-Related Deaths Among Kids

    A new report also showed that 84% of kids who have influenza-associated encephalopathy whose vaccination status was known were not vaccinated. This comes as the country recorded 280 pediatric flu deaths last year, which is the deadliest since the 2009-10 H1N1 pandemic.

    A pediatric infectious disease physician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Dr. Buddy Creech, said that they do not always know how to predict which children are going to get the most severe forms of flu. This is why they recommend the vaccine for everyone, according to NBC News.

    ANE is considered a rare disease, as there are only a handful of cases recorded every year, and it has never been formally tracked. However, this year, doctors noted an increase in kids affected by the brain inflammation after suffering from the flu.

    A pediatric neurologist at Boston Children’s Hospital, Dr. Molly Wilson-Murphy, said that they are not yet sure if there really is an increase in real numbers. However, being on the ground as a physician, she was struck that it certainly is.

    The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases also underscored the crucial role that annual flu vaccinations play in preventing serious illness, particularly among children. The CDC recommends the shots for everyone aged six months and older yearly, KSTE reported.

    A Decline in Vaccination Rates

    Despite the decline in vaccination rates, the CDC continues to advocate for flu shots, saying these are the most effective way to protect kids from severe flu-related complications, as well as death.

    The situation comes after the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recently voted to change recommendations for the COVID-19 vaccine. These recommendations must still be approved by the CDC director in order to become official guidance.

    Advice on the COVID-19 vaccine differs from the flu shots, as the CDC said parents of healthy children aged six months to 17 years should talk about the benefits with a health care provider. The CDC broadly recommends the vaccine for moderately or severely immunocompromised kids, as per CBS News.

The family planning supplies will be burnt in France following transport — an operation that will cost taxpayers an additional $167,000, according to a state department spokesperson who confirmed the decision with The Guardian.

    The administration has reportedly denied offers from family planning organizations and the United Nations to purchase and distribute the supplies to women in need. According to MSI Reproductive Choices associate director of advocacy Sarah Shaw, the government would only accept full price for the products, which her global family planning organization could not afford on top of transport.

    “It’s not just about an empty shelf,” Shaw told the Guardian. “It’s about unfulfilled potential. It’s about a girl having to drop out of school. It’s about someone having to seek an unsafe abortion and risking their lives.”

    The halt in aid is part of a broader DOGE initiative dismantling USAID .

    Earlier this month, reports revealed the Trump administration’s plans to incinerate 500 metric tons of emergency food aid—enough to feed 1.5 million starving children in Gaza for a week. The food, stored in the UAE, was deemed expired but, according to career USAID staff, could still have been distributed safely.

    The freeze in aid has also delayed delivery of mpox vaccines promised to African countries experiencing outbreaks. A Politico report found nearly 800,000 doses will expire in less than six months, making them ineligible for shipment.

    Despite objections from humanitarian organizations who argue the rigid application of the administration’s policy is hurting vulnerable populations, the White House maintains that it is protecting taxpayer funds and adhering to legal restrictions on aid to agencies that offer abortion.

    Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. admitted that he neglected to fact check his “Make America Healthy Again” report after it was revealed that several of the over 500 sources cited by the report did not exist.

    Seven of the studies cited by the MAHA report were never published or could not be found, according to NOTUS investigation from May.

    The secretary appeared before the House Energy and Commerce Committee in a hearing on Tuesday, during which he got into a heated exchange with Democratic Rep. Raul Ruiz.

    “You’re listed as the chair of the commission. Did you read the report and fact-check its sources prior to publication?” Ruiz asked.

    “I did not fact check,” RFK Jr. responded.


    “Why then did the report include citations to sources that don’t even exist? How does that happen under your leadership, sir?” Ruiz continued.

    “All of the foundational assertions in that report are accurate,” said RFK Jr.

    “They did not exist. How can they be accurate if they did not exist? In fact, my understanding is that even once the report was updated, more authors and researchers came forward stating that their research was misconstrued. This is quite unbelievable sir,” Ruiz stated.

    “My concern here is that you and this administration are undertaking vast changes to our federal public health system and using purported facts and gold standard evidence that you claim to have as justifications for your decisions, actions and frankly your dissipation of our nation’s public health infrastructure. But what you’re relying upon isn’t real. It isn’t data driven and it isn’t based in facts or reality. It’s wrong,” Ruiz continued.

    Social media users also proceeded to ridicule RFK Jr. for his responses to Ruiz’ hard-hitting questions.

    “The Vaccine Whisperer just said he didn’t fact-check—then claimed sources that DON’T EXIST are somehow accurate?? This is what happens when a Facebook comments section is HHS. He’s not a truth-teller—he’s a conspiracy karaoke machine with a Wi-Fi signal. Unfit. Embarrassing,” one user wrote.


    “The scary part about this guy is – unlike Hegseth – nobody is babysitting him, which means he can do some serious damage. I’d be more comfortable with a witchdoctor as Sec of HHS,” another added.


    “Look, we all know RFK Jr’s brain worm fact checks everything, and that brain worm has a degree in ‘doing it’s own research’ from Trump University,” one user joked.


    “If a student turned that fraudulent document into my alma mater, they may have been referred to the university for expulsion, at the VERY least removal from the college of engineering,” another user chimed in.

    New guidelines implemented under an executive order by President Donald Trump now allow VA hospital staff to refuse healthcare to veterans based on political affiliation and marital status, prompting concerns that Democratic and unmarried veterans may be denied treatment.

    On January 30, Trump signed an executive order titled “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.” While its primary aim was to curtail federal protections for transgender individuals, the order also triggered sweeping changes within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), according to the Guardian.

    The VA, which serves over 9 million veterans across more than 170 hospitals and 1,000 clinics, revised its internal bylaws to strip longstanding protections against discrimination based on political party, marital status, sexual orientation and national origin.

    The updated policies allow doctors, psychologists, dentists and other healthcare workers at VA hospitals to refuse treatment to veterans based on characteristics not explicitly protected by federal law. While veterans are still legally entitled to care, there is now no rule preventing staff from declining service to individuals based on their political beliefs or whether they are unmarried.

    Internal documents reviewed by the outlet confirm that the changes are already in effect at some VA centers. The VA’s press secretary confirmed the revisions were made to align with Trump’s executive order but did not clarify what federal law required such shifts.

    The new rules have drawn sharp criticism from medical experts and ethics professionals. Dr. Kenneth Kizer, the VA’s top health official, warned the policy could allow providers to deny care to patients based on rape allegations, political activity or substance use. Dr. Arthur Caplan of NYU’s Grossman School of Medicine called the changes “unethical” and “an effort to exert political control over the VA medical staff.”

    In the trending snippet from 2024, CNN anchor Kasie Hunt asks RFK Jr, who was running as an independent presidential candidate at the time, whether he still believed “there’s no vaccine that is, you know, safe and effective,” quoting an earlier interview response.

    “I never said that,” RFK Jr quickly asserted.

    “So, stop me, we have the clip. Please play the clip,” Hunt demanded before a clip of RFK Jr making the word-for-word claim is played.


    The clip’s resurgence has left many wondering whether the Make America Healthy Again Commission, led by Kennedy, intentionally miscited and misrepresented studies and research in its landmark report.

    Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt attempted to blame the errors on “formatting issues,” raising more questions than answers.

    RFK Jr has long been a critic of vaccines, despite all of his children being fully vaccinated. Most recently, he announced on X that his department no longer recommended the COVID vaccine for healthy children and healthy pregnant women.


    “Last year the Biden administration urged healthy children to get yet another COVID shot despite the lack of any clinical data to support the repeat booster strategy in children,” Kennedy claimed in the 58-second video.

    A social media influencer is under fire for promoting a dangerous and discredited chemical as a so-called “autism cure,” despite alarming reports of serious harm to children.

    Kerri Rivera, who has over 17,000 followers on Instagram, encourages parents to administer chlorine dioxide (CD)—an industrial bleach used in textile manufacturing and disinfection—orally and by enema to their autistic children. Rivera falsely claims this “protocol” rids the body of parasites she believes cause autism.

    Messages from Rivera’s private support group show parents reporting disturbing side effects, including vomiting, rashes, seizures, and chemical-smelling urine. Despite these symptoms, Rivera routinely reassures followers that these are signs the bleach is “working” and the body is “detoxifying.”

    Ingesting chlorine dioxide can result in severe vomiting, liver failure, respiratory problems, developmental delays and death.

    Tim Nicholls of the National Autistic Society called Rivera’s claims “sickening.”

    “This information is wrong, dangerous and harmful to autistic people and their families,” Nicholls told The Independent.

    “No autistic person, parent or carer should be told to ‘cure’ their child by administering a dangerous, potentially life-threatening chemical,” he continued. “Autism is a lifelong neurodivergence and disability, it is not a disease that can be ‘treated’ or ‘cured.’”

    TikTok has removed Rivera’s account, and Amazon removed her storefront where she earned commission on products she recommended to administer “protocols.” Her Instagram remains active.

    Advocacy groups are urging social media platforms and government agencies to take stronger action against the promotion of toxic treatments and to encourage parents to seek advice from trusted medical professionals.

    Rivera has not responded to the growing backlash.

    The White House defended Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. amid scrutiny of the administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) Commission report, which was found to cite multiple studies that do not exist.

    At a Thursday briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed concerns, insisting the report remains a “transformative” achievement.

    When a reporter asked Leavitt directly if artificial intelligence had played a role in drafting the 73-page report—a possibility raised by the volume of citation errors—Leavitt declined to answer. “I can’t speak to that,” she said. “I would defer you to the Department of Health and Human Services.”


    “We have complete confidence in Secretary Kennedy and his team at HHS,” Leavitt said. She attributed the citation of nonexistent studies to “formatting issues,” which she said are being addressed.

    The errors “do not negate the substance of the report,” Leavitt continued. “Which, as you know, is one of the most transformative health reports that has ever been released by the federal government and is backed on good science.”

    Despite insistence that the MAHA report is backed by “good science,” the citations were rife with errors. At least seven of the cited sources could not be linked to any existing study, according to an investigation by NOTUS.

    “The paper cited is not a real paper that I or my colleagues were involved with,” epidemiologist Katherine Keyes told NOTUS, referencing a cited study on adolescent anxiety where she is listed as an author. The link to the study is broken, and the citation’s claim that the study was published in JAMA Pediatrics could not be verified.

    Pediatric Pulmonologist Harold J. Farber was named as author of a study the MAHA report cited in support of its claim that “American child are on too much medicine.” Farber denies writing the report and noted that he’s worked on similar research, but its conclusions are not accurately presented.

    Among the MAHA report’s citations of confirmed studies, there were broken links, author or issue number errors, and several instances where the findings of a cited study were misrepresented.

    Leavitt’s deflection when asked if the errors could be attributed to AI did little to calm critics who doubt Kennedy’s competence in medical science.

    The MAHA commission is expected to release a follow-up document, the “Make Our Children Healthy Again Strategy,” in August.

    A Republican-led bill seeking to challenge abortion access may also block access to chemotherapy and life-saving surgeries in Wyoming, according to a report.

    According to the bill, Senate File 125, “No act, treatment or procedure that causes harm to the heart, respiratory system, central nervous system, brain, skeletal system, jointed or muscled appendages or organ function shall be construed as healthcare.”

    Although the bill is intended to target the concept of fetal personhood, healthcare and law professionals are worried that various other procedures and treatments, such as chemotherapy, could be affected by the bill.

    “There’s a slew of medical procedures, surgeries, treatments that can have potentially positive outcomes but may also cause harm in the short period or as an unintended consequence,” Wyoming attorney Abigail Fournier told the The Guardian.

    An amendment to Wyoming’s state constitution in 2012 stated that making healthcare decisions was a right of individuals in the state. Senate File 125 is the first of its kind trying to change the definition of healthcare.

    While Cheri Steinmetz, the Republican state senator who authored the bill, told The Guardian that she was not trying to change the constitution, just the definition used, Wyoming attorney Clark Stith said that they believe changing the meaning could still constitute changing the constitution.

    Wyoming’s abortion ban was struck down by a judge in November 2024. At the time, women and organizations had argued that the ban violated the 2012 amendment, and that it also infringed upon their rights, NPR reported at the time.

    As the state appeals this ruling, state representatives have also created bills seeking to restrict abortion access, such as requiring a trans-vaginal ultrasound before patients can receive abortion medication, as reported by WyoFile.

    At least two abortion-related House bills have passed the House since the abortion ban was struck down. A third one is set to be debated on in the coming weeks.

    A strange condition known as “Werewolf Syndrome” has left nearly a dozen babies in Spain covered in hair, with extreme cases even resembling the iconic Wookiees from Star Wars. The rare disorder, officially called Hypertrichosis, is believed to be triggered by the parents’ use of a hair loss remedy, according to a recent report.

    Hypertrichosis occurs when individuals have excessive hair growth anywhere on the body. While some people are born with it due to genetic mutations (congenital hypertrichosis), others can develop it later in life (acquired hypertrichosis). The condition can be triggered by factors like certain medications, autoimmune disorders, or even malnutrition. Antibiotics such as streptomycin, anti-inflammatory drugs like benoxaprofen and corticosteroids, or the use of antiseptics with hexachlorobenzene are also known triggers.

    According to the report from El Economista, a Spanish news outlet, Navarra Pharmacovigilance Centre, detected 11 babies with Hypertrichosis or “Werewolf Syndrome,” after being exposed to minoxidil, a hair loss medication used by their parents. The drug is believed to have transferred from adults to infants through direct skin contact or by the babies sucking on contaminated surfaces, which may have affected their systems.

    “The skin of young children is more permeable due to the thinner layer of their stratum corneum, as they have a greater surface area/body weight ratio. For this reason, they are more easily able to absorb drugs administered topically systemically,” Navarra Pharmacovigilance Centre explained in the El Economista report as translated by Google.

    The patients were tested for exposure to other medications and investigated for other possible triggers. The symptoms reportedly subsided after stopping contact with the medication.

    Minoxidil, available in both solution and foam forms, is commonly used to promote hair growth, especially in the treatment of male pattern baldness. It belongs to a class of drugs called vasodilators, which work by improving blood flow to hair follicles and stimulating hair growth.

    Although generally safe, minoxidil can cause some side effects, including burning, stinging, or redness at the application site. In rare cases, the medication could be absorbed through the skin and may cause more serious effects such as unwanted facial or body hair, dizziness, fast or irregular heartbeat, fainting, chest pain, swelling in the hands or feet, unusual weight gain, fatigue, or difficulty breathing.
