Shawn Mendes Weighs In on George Floyd's Death, Says 'This Needs to Be Everyone's Fight'

Later that day, Shawn took to Instagram to share a statement regarding the death of George Floyd.

” I’ve been trying to find the right messages for daytimes. I feel sick to my belly ,” Shawn wrote.” Hearing the racket of his voice crying for help is bone chilling and it f-king divulges my mind. I’m so sorry that this injustice preserves happening. I can’t imagine what life dealing with racism so perpetually is like. As a white person, I not only recognize that this is a problem but that I am one of the purposes of the problem .”

Shawn continued:” That it has all along been due been time to only’ not accept’ intolerance, but to become anti-racist. That everyone is of us that are in the majority, can’t sit idle any longer while the minority are suffering. It’s time for ALL humans to require change. This needs to be EVERYONES fight. We need to start to really listen to& help amplify black expressions. To make their struggles known and to accept intolerance. It’s time to taking any decision on that feeling in your centre that knows how wrong this is. This can NOT be the world our children of the future live in. The day for modify is long overdue& we can’t rest until alter is what we get .”
